Back in 2015, I decided to give the subject Media a try. What had me intrigued was a student was given the creative freedom to create a video (or a "short film"). I looked at my mate and thought we could do something together.

Cut to maybe a few months later and we were finally up to planning our short film, which we decided was going to be a horror movie. The filmmaker I had in mind was none other than John Carpenter since I had previously seen Halloween many times.

Unfortunately, the film did not turn out the way I hoped it would and when our movie was being shown to the class, I had kept my head down the whole time in embarrassment.
When I was asked if I wanted to keep a copy of my short, I told my teacher to delete it instead of giving it to me. I did not want to think about the movie until a year later.

In 2017, a friend of mine had revealed that she had kept many shorts and videos from 2016's Media class. I asked her out of curiosity if she had kept the film me and my mate had made. Luckily she did and so I grabbed it off her.

In my Media class of 2017/2018, both my horror films were heavily influenced by John Carpenter.

Still to this day, I always look back on it and see the progress I've made during the years making short films.
